30 Internet ThingsPCWorld Magazine has a post called “30 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do on the Internet.” I wonder if Senator Stevens knows about this (U.S.-based joke about a Senator from Alaska telling people the internet is basically a series of tubes).
This is a great list (if you skip past page 1’s intro) for reminding you of some of the things that are out there. Here are a few that caught my eye:
- Compare cell plans with WireFly.
- Hire a Nag at RemindMe.com
- Clean out your garage with SwapThing.com
- Hire a Virtual Office Manager
The list goes on and on, and you should check it out for the “Oh yeah, I remember that!” factor alone.
Math Your Head Off!I am probably the world’s worst math mind. Well, okay, I have a few redeeming qualities. For instance, I can calculate tips really easily. I can also do some really interesting fuzzy-headed things around percentages and the like. However, after that, I’m useless.
Lucky for you and me, someone out there’s got a wiki loaded with math information, including math screencasts and the like. What’s really cool is that lots of this stuff (all of it?) are done by kids and teachers. Here’s a sampling of the casts:
- Algebra and Functions
- Plotting Points
- Compound Interest Problems
If your eyes just glazed over, you’re like me. Don’t worry. These folks make it make a LOT more sense. Check it out.
