It's been great that Google and Yahoo have opened up their map API's
to let just about anyone build maps using that pre-built tech
goodness. Unfortunately, if you're not a developer, or if you're just
in a hurry, maybe you don't need access to the API. Maybe you just
want to put together a simple map in a few clicks. Map Builder is
here to help. What does it do? Pretty good description on the site:
"MapBuilder.net is an Web2.0 service that is used to build custom
Google and Yahoo maps without any knowledge of the Google/Yahoo Maps
API and JavaScript. MapBuilder provides a decent visual interface for
the map building process with geocoding features. Also MapBuilder
lets users tag locations on their maps, and then publish the map
either on MapBuilder.net or their own website." Sounds good to me.
What's great is that you can grab the source code all you want.
Yahoo's support for Flash maps is on the way as well. Remember, to
use the source for Google you'll need one of those spiffy Google Maps
API keys. Enjoy!
