"I came to apologize for being alive."

"Forgive me," she wept. "I was the baby. You had to pay the price. I came to apologize for being alive."

A comment made by a Holocaust survivor, to her parents at the site of their murder.

This is from a NYTimes story about going back to the Maidanek death camp and making new finds.

Worth a read. (requires free reg. and is only available for the next two weeks)
